Impacto Psicossocial das medidas restritivas da pandemia COVID-19 em residentes cabo-verdianos: um estudo transversal de base populacional

Contexto: A pandemia de COVID-19, causada pelo SARS-CoV-2, afetou a saúde mental e as condições socioeconómicas globalmente, mas a evidência sobre países insulares africanos como Cabo Verde permanece limitada. Objetivo: Caracterizar o impacto psicossocial da COVID-19 e das medidas restritivas na população residente em Cabo Verde. Métodos: Estudo transversal de base populacional com amostra representativa de 3.520 residentes em Cabo Verde com ≥ 12 anos. Aplicou-se um questionário estruturado, adaptado à população-alvo, avaliando saúde mental e bem-estar, alterações de vida, suporte social, acesso a cuidados e meios de proteção, e preocupações com o desconfinamento e o futuro. Calcularam-se frequências absolutas e proporções ponderadas dos indicadores psicossociais. Resultados: Cerca de metade dos inquiridos referiu conciliar trabalho e vida familiar e manter rotinas diárias; a maioria relatou ter, pelo menos, uma pessoa de confiança, continuar a aceder aos cuidados de saúde no setor público e dispor de materiais de proteção. Apenas uma minoria indicou ter acesso fácil a linhas e cuidados psicológicos ou a cuidados domiciliários. Predominaram preocupações com a suficiência das medidas, o risco acrescido para grupos vulneráveis, a perda de rendimento e uma possível crise económica grave, a par de uma avaliação positiva de algumas formas alternativas de organização do trabalho e de níveis relevantes de otimismo quanto ao futuro. Conclusões: Os residentes cabo-verdianos revelaram capacidade de adaptação às medidas de saúde pública, embora persista vulnerabilidade psicossocial, sobretudo ligada à insegurança económica e à proteção de grupos vulneráveis.
